Licensed dispensaries near LAX, ranked by drive time
The good news for travelers: the closest licensed dispensaries to LAX are genuinely close — the airport sits next to Westchester's Lincoln Boulevard corridor, and the Marina del Rey cluster is one exit further. The essential rule before you go: buy only from licensed shops. LA has plenty of unlicensed storefronts, and they're where untested product lives.
How to verify any shop in 30 seconds
Every legal California dispensary has a state license number displayed in-store and on its website. Search that number (or the shop name) in the Department of Cannabis Control's license lookup at search.cannabis.ca.gov. If a shop isn't in that database, walk out. This works for delivery services too.
The closest cluster: Westchester (5–10 minutes)
LAX Cannabis Club (LAXCC) — 8332 Lincoln Blvd. The one that's genuinely closest: about five minutes south of the terminals on surface streets, no freeway. Open daily to 9:30pm, with a drive-thru and express pickup — built for exactly the traveler use case.
SWED — a Snoop Dogg dispensary — 5494 W Centinela Ave. Roughly five minutes from the terminals and it opens at 6am daily, which makes it the early-flight and red-eye-arrival option. (Reminder from our layover guide: whatever you buy cannot fly with you.)
One exit north: Marina del Rey / Washington corridor (10–15 minutes)
Xzibit's West Coast Cannabis (XWCC) Marina del Rey — 13452 W Washington Blvd (state license C10-0000460-LIC). The artist-owned shop on the Marina's main retail strip — a natural stop if your layover plan includes the waterfront, Venice, or a proper sit-down lunch by the boats.
Highway Cannabis — off Maxella and Del Rey Ave in Marina del Rey, with curbside pickup and quick access from Lincoln.
Further up Lincoln toward Venice you'll find additional licensed storefronts (the Lincoln corridor is the Westside's dispensary spine) — verify any of them the same way via the DCC lookup.
Practical notes for airport runs
Bring a physical government ID — passports work for international visitors. Prices are cash-friendly; most shops have ATMs or debit workarounds. Budget realistic round-trip time: 30–45 minutes for Westchester, 45–70 for the Marina, plus your security re-clear buffer (90 minutes minimum at peak). And consumption rules don't bend for travelers: not in the rideshare, not at the beach, not at the terminal.
